Ispy was inspired by the “I Spy” books I loved as a child, those busy pages filled with tiny secrets, hidden treasures, and playful surprises. I wanted to capture that same sense of discovery, so I painted this piece on an extremely small canvas, barely two inches by three. Its size was intentional: I wanted it to feel like a trinket itself, something you could hold in your palm and explore inch by inch. Against a vivid royal blue background, small clouds drift between miniature pirate ships and whimsical shapes that echo the imaginative worlds of childhood. The scale invites the viewer to lean in, to search, to notice details that might be missed at first glance, just like the books that inspired it. Ispy is a celebration of curiosity, nostalgia, and the joy of finding magic in small things. It reminds us that wonder doesn’t always come from grand scenes or large canvases; sometimes it lives in the tiniest corners, waiting quietly to be discovered.
