This piece addresses the distorted ideals of beauty and perfection that permeate society, particularly through the lens of the adult entertainment industry. The five models, each with box televisions for heads, represent the way mainstream media perpetuates a narrow and unrealistic standard of beauty—one that is often commodified and objectified. The rainbow static glitch that covers their bodies symbolizes the distortion and manipulation of the images we are fed, particularly through the adult content industry, which thrives on exploitation and profit-driven motives. While these figures are presented as embodiments of ideal beauty—perfect, flawless, and detached—they are also isolated from one another, representing the fragmentation and loneliness that often accompanies the pursuit of unattainable standards. Their nudity, coupled with the glitching static, serves as a commentary on the way society commodifies bodies, reducing them to objects for consumption.
The title designed for the system intentionally evokes the connection between the exploitation of beauty and the greed of the adult content industry, which plays a significant role in shaping how society views bodies and relationships. This name acts as a critique of the industry's manipulation of human bodies for profit, promoting an unattainable ideal that leaves individuals, particularly women, in a constant state of disconnection and dissatisfaction. Through this piece, I want to challenge the idealism fed to us by media and encourage a reflection on the real cost of these ideal, on both personal identity and societal health.
